Content creators tend to do update videos to keep you informed about their blog/video channel/podcast/etc. Here’s a reason why not to give updates:
Showing not telling.
This is one of the most fundamental rules when it comes to writing a screenplay. It is also one of the most fundamental rules when it comes to most other entertainment products/art. Would you rather let your fanbase know about your plans for your project which might come up (or may never see the light)? Wouldn’t it be better to just stay silent about something and let your fanbase discover your project themselves? It is more likely to cause excitement after you just come around the corner with a new creation. And it leaves you with the creative freedom to let your creations flurish.
